FieldworkHub was asked to assist a multinational technology company to improve their internet app, games and content store in two emerging markets, Brazil and India. The client wanted to understand the motivations (explicit and observed) of existing frequent users to help prioritise future development of the store. Planned developments included the addition of more content and implementing an updated information architecture to keep users coming back.
FieldworkHub and our local partners recruited 35 respondents in each market. All 70 respondents took part in an initial 30-minute onboarding interview with a local moderator that FieldworkHub provided. They then completed one diary activity each day for 21 days using an online bulletin board platform, to explain why they were coming to the app store, what they did whilst using it and whether they achieved their objective. After the diary phase was completed, our moderators completed another 30 post-research interviews in each market.
