Market research in the UK

The United Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and Northern Ireland has the third highest population in Europe and the second largest economy. The UK economy has a strong service sector (79.2% of total GDP) with financial services a particular strength.

Britain’s decision in 2016 to leave the European Union has led to an extended period of economic uncertainty which is likely to continue for some time as the UK tries to map out new relationships with the rest of Europe and other major trading partners.

For companies based in the USA and other English-speaking countries, the UK is a natural starting point for a European market research programme. Online focus group with decision makers for service management software in the UK

A leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) company asked FieldworkHub to arrange an online focus group with decision makers involved in the selection of service management software in medium to large enterprises. The client wanted to speak exclusively to people who were already using their software but since they did not have a ready-made list of customers to approach, we were asked to free-find suitable participants. We recruited participants at manager to VP level from companies employing 500+ staff in a range of different sectors to take part in the group and provide inputs to assist the client with their product development roadmap. We successfully filled all of the client’s quotas over four days of research in each city, supplied the tablets that were used to complete the online surveys and managed all of the logistics for product delivery and collection.

Face-to-face interviews with garage owners in Manchester

FieldworkHub recruited owners of small and medium-sized independent garages in the Manchester area to take part in face-to-face in-depth interviews at their places of work on the subject of engine coolants and fuel additives. As part of the telephone screening process we established what brands of coolants and fuel additives that they currently sold and whether they had a customer display of these products. The interviews were completed successfully over a two-day period. In a second phase of this project, we also recruited commuters, cab drivers, car enthusiasts and vintage car drivers for in-depth interviews via video conference on coolants and fuel additives.

Interviews with haemophiliacs and healthcare professionals in the UK, France and Germany

A leading global strategy consultancy wanted to carry out in-depth interviews with haemophilia patients and healthcare professionals specialising in haemophilia in the UK, France and Germany as part of a project to develop new ways of managing the condition. Over several phases of work, we recruited more than 20 healthcare professionals (including haematologists, haematology nurses, and physiotherapists and psychologists with haemophilia experience) and over 50 patients with this rare condition.
