IDIs: relationship wealth managers, Saudi Arabia

The client brief
When a Wealthtech platform based in the UAE needed our guidance in running online depth interviews with wealth managers in Saudi Arabia, we accepted the challenge. FieldworkHub have a vast amount of experience conducting depth interviews in the financial services industry. More recently, we have conducted frequent research in Saudi Arabia.
Our client wished to understand how the wealth management industry operates in Saudi Arabia, including how wealth managers work and any challenges and pains they experience during their workflow. To achieve this, we were asked to run 60-minute in-depth qualitative interviews. To qualify for the research, all participants needed to be based and working in Saudi Arabia and hold the position of Relationship Wealth Manager, or another title of equal standing, primarily focused on managing client wealth. All participants must also have been working in their role for at least one year, and actively involved in discussing, advising on, and/or facilitating client investments in various financial products (e.g., funds, equities, bonds, structured products).
FieldworkHub delivers
The FieldworkHub team recruited relationship wealth managers, conducting full verification of each profile through various sources of publicly available information. All participants worked for a mix of different Saudi Arabian banks. We liaised with local teams to work with moderators who speak the local language. Each 60-minute depth interview was held in Arabic via Microsoft Teams, the schedules of which were arranged by us.
As many of these individuals hold highly sensitive roles in critical sectors, this was a tricky profile to recruit. We confirmed with each participant that they are agreeing to take part in the research on the condition that their confidentiality is strictly maintained. To ensure the insights gathered were as valuable to our client as possible, we recruited mostly wealth managers who had been working in their role for over 5 years. The client was exceptionally pleased with the data we delivered and immediately followed up with a similar request for us to work on together.
FieldworkHub did a great job with this recruitment. We always do research with very specific groups of medical specialists, so it’s not easy to find suitable respondents. FieldworkHub provided high quality services, which made it possible for us to gather important insights from four completely different markets.
