Central location test: toilet cleaning products, UK

The client brief
A consumer goods brand wanted to test out new eco-friendly packaging concepts for their well-known toilet cleaning products, and asked FieldworkHub to arrange a central location test in which participants would view their products alongside competitor products on a mocked-up supermarket shelving unit and then complete a short survey with an interviewer (CAPI).
The client set various quotas for the sample on age, income, shopping habits and brand preference for toilet cleaners.
FieldworkHub delivers
We were tasked with recruiting 430 women aged between 18 and 69 years old who purchase toilet cleaning products for their home, setting up the shelving units in a market research facility, stocking the shelves to match our client’s detailed instructions, and moderating the on-site interviews.
Our team was on site every day during the seven days that the research was taking place to manage respondents and oversee the project. We successfully met the required quotas and kept our client updated throughout each day.
Our client was very impressed with the level of insight we were able to take from the respondents. We were also praised for our organisational capabilities in managing such a large group of respondents in a central location.
