The client brief

An Omani corporation wanted to carry out ethnographic research on energy topics with a diverse range of target groups, including petrol station customers, independent retailers, commercial fleet procurement and operations managers, energy managers for large commercial buildings. The sample included both Omanis and ex-pats.

We recruited almost 50 respondents in total for three phases of research, and provided on-the-ground support including transport and interpreters for the interviews which took place in Arabic. Some of the initial interviews took place at the respondents’ places of work while others took place at a central location in Muscat that was booked by FieldworkHub. In the latter stages we conducted a mix of online interviews and in-home interviews.

The team at FieldworkHub have been an absolute pleasure to work with. We threw in a mid-fieldwork curveball requesting additional sample and the team accepted the request with no issues in delivering. The quality of the sample was high and I have no hesitation in recommending FieldworkHub and look forward to working with them again.
