Our client, a social enterprise, was working with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Transport for London and c2c rail to improve the environment outside Barking station in East London. They wanted to explore perceptions of safety outside Barking Station and test the impact of creative interventions on how people think, feel and behave in the space.
FieldworkHub programmed the surveys and completed 250 face-to-face computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI) outside the station for two waves of research: Wave 1 took place before the client’s recommended interventions had been installed and Wave 2 took place whilst the interventions were in place. Our interview team covered different times of day and both weekdays and weekends, ensuring that we achieved a good mix of gender, ethnicity and people with long-standing illnesses, disabilities or infirmities. At the end of each wave we delivered a full set of results to the client in Excel format so that they could prepare a detailed report for the study sponsors.
