A management consulting company asked the FieldworkHub team to help their client understand how specialist healthcare professionals (HCPs) manage their endoscopy devices. They also wanted to present some early concepts for an improved device management system to these professionals for feedback. To achieve this, the client requested us to recruit three types of HCP —Endoscopy Head Nurse, Endoscopy Nurse, and Biomedical Technician — in Germany, Spain, and the UK.
The client’s methodology required each participant to commit a significant amount of time to the research to take part in four 60-minute online depth interviews over a period of 11 weeks and also complete an online diary and some prototype testing work over a period of four weeks. The timing of the project also meant that the latter stages of the research coincided with the summer holiday period. In addition the client had a hospital exclusion list which meant that we were unable to recruit from some of the larger endoscopy centres in Germany and Spain.
The client team did not speak German or Spanish so we provided consecutive interpreters to assist with some of the client interviews. We collected each participant’s holiday dates and scheduled blocks of interviews to work around these. We also arranged weekly touchpoints with each participant to help keep them engaged, particularly during the diary/prototype testing portion of the study.
Our successful delivery of this project demonstrates FieldworkHub’s capability to deliver complex, multinational studies on time, while navigating logistical challenges and maintaining high levels of participant engagement throughout the process.
We are very satisfied with the results. Thank you for your excellent management, you were a delight to work with.
