IDIs and survey: health insurance, UAE
The client brief
A management consultancy was assisting a client in Abu Dhabi with a project relating to health insurance for diabetics and patients with other common chronic conditions. We were asked to recruit Emirati patients, ex-pat patients who had lived in Abu Dhabi for at least a year and younger Emiratis who were at risk of contracting diabetes for online interviews. In a later stage of the research, we also recruited Emiratis and Arab ex-pats who had consulted a doctor about diet and nutrition services. Finally, we were asked to run a short survey with diabetic patients living in the UAE to test some concepts that the client was developing.

We were able to meet all of the client’s quota requirements for all three phases of research and ensured that all of the interviews took place as planned. We also provided simultaneous translators for a number of interviews in Arabic and arranged Arabic translation for the quantitative survey.
Working with the FieldworkHub team was truly a relief on a complex multi-country project. We used their local moderator and simultaneous translation services in a few markets. Winnie, as well as the local country teams, were adaptable, responsible and accommodating in a logistically challenging project. I value their partnership and will be tapping them in again on the next international project!
