A global technology firm wanted to explore views on data privacy amongst senior decision makers in some of the industries that are of key strategic importance to their business. FieldworkHub was asked to recruit suitable profiles in the UK and Germany, which were chosen to represent European countries with differing levels of general concern about data privacy issues.
In each country, we recruited participants for two online focus groups with brand-name companies, two online focus groups with advertising agencies, and one online focus group with news publishers. The focus group participants were asked to complete a 30-minute pre-task right before their 90-minute session, which explored the relevance of data privacy as a strategic issue within each industry, and how confident participants felt about navigating the current data privacy environment.
We also recruited two C-level participants from each of the target industries to take part in 60-minute depth interviews so the client could understand if perceptions at the most senior levels differed from those at the next level down.
We kept the client updated with recruitment progress in real time via our live profile grids, which enabled the client to view the status of recruitment in both countries. Our dedicated team logged on for the start of each focus group session to ensure respondents had joined the group and had enough time to fill out the pre-task. For the C-suite interviews, our team shared a biographical overview of each profile before confirming their participation so our client could be confident the interviewees would be able to provide the level of insight needed. We also provided moderation and simultaneous translation services for the German groups and interviews.
The client was very pleased with the devotion of the team to the project, and the high-quality of service overall.
FieldworkHub has been a great research partner to me and my team. Caroline and Cornelius were incredibly proactive, helping us anticipate any issues that might come up and plan for how to handle them. Even though it did turn out to be a challenging project, things went smoothly because we were one step ahead. The team went above and beyond to help ensure our goals were met.
