FieldworkHub completed a full-service in-person project for a Japanese manufacturer to understand more about the market needs for domestic air conditioning in and around London. We were asked to find participants for two days of in-home immersion interviews to help the client explore and better understand the structural capacity of UK homes, the desired price point and to visualise how the installation process might work. Since the client's time was very limited, it was important to ensure that each participant was actually using the type of equipment which they said they were using.
The client’s visit had already been arranged for particular dates when FieldworkHub was contacted so we only had four days to recruit and make all the arrangements. Despite the tight timeline, we were able to recruit four participants who had specific types of home heating and ventilation units and were willing to take part in 90-minute ethnographic interviews with the client team. We ensured that each participant shared photos of their installation in advance so we could verify that they met the client’s specific requirements. FieldworkHub also managed the logistics of both fielding days, which involved arranging transport, ensuring that there was adequate travel time between interviews and booking hotel accommodation for the client team. Our client was enthusiastic about the findings of the in-home interviews.
We reached out to FieldworkHub after another firm told us they were not able to keep their commitment. Not only did Caroline respond to my email almost immediately, she picked up the phone and talked to me about my needs. Her team was super responsive and flexible, getting our work completed on time and budget. I highly recommend working with them and will absolutely be reaching out the next time I am conducting work in Europe.
