Our client, a well-known management consultancy firm, asked FieldworkHub to assist them with an international study involving students from China and India who are currently studying abroad in the UK, USA or Australia, or preparing to study in one of these countries, and their parents back in their home country. We carried out the recruitment and interview/group scheduling, which was complex due to the short timeline (less than 3 weeks from start to finish) and the many time zones involved.
The student quotas included those currently taking an undergraduate course abroad, those currently taking a postgraduate course abroad, and those expecting to begin studying abroad within 12 months. The client also specified a mix in the subject of study (degree pursued), gender of the students, and household income of the parents. Parents were asked to participate in 60-minute online in-depth interviews, while students took part in a 2.5-hour online workshop.
We succeeded in recruiting five students and five parents from each country with the right profiles (20 respondents in total) and co-ordinated schedules and interview times to enable the client to moderate all of the interviews and workshops.
